Let it be said, the life of a wedding planner is never boring!

Every autumn and winter, I spend a huge amount of time at events with the top wedding suppliers and venues in the UK so that when it comes to your wedding I know who will be the best fit for you.  In the last few weeks alone I have been from Bedfordshire to West Berkshire researching venues.  I have also spent time with the uber talented photographer John Nassari, mingled with the brilliant stationer Ananya Cards, and was treated to an afternoon of utter delight by new wedding venue Wickham House. In between that, the Extraordinary Days 2016 summer is filing up quickly with two amazing multi-day weddings just recently joining the ranks of other Extraordinary couples past, present, and future. So, although the busy summer season has come to an end, all is certainly carrying on in my office!

In honour of World Photo Day, John Nassari, one of the most sought after reportage wedding photographers invited a few select wedding planners to brush up their photography skills at the Mandarin Oriental in Knightsbridge.  Given the importance of taking good photos in these days of social media, it’s a skill we all need! Plus, it was a fun day catching up with creative friends and seeing more of John’s stellar work.

Only a few weeks later I was invited to Wickham House. Upon arriving I was absolutely stunned to discover what is a spectacular new wedding venue in West Berkshire. With a site for a marquee for up to 400, a church on the grounds, a beautiful garden for outdoor ceremonies, and top-notch accommodation only a stone’s throw away, this country haven is bound to be a favourite for luxe weddings.

Only a day after my trip to Wickham Park, I was back in central London to visit with Ananya Cards, a luxury stationer. Ananya held an event at Elemis in Mayfair for wedding planners to learn about her stationery but also to be a bit pampered (I know, its suuuuuuch a hard job!). In the midst of reviewing printing techniques that Ananya uses, looking closely at samples, and discussing the meanings of different colours, we sipped on cocktails, had a little massage by Elemis, and also tried out colouring therapy. If you haven’t coloured (or as the Brits say: “coloured in”) since you were a kid, I highly recommend it!

Finally, just this past weekend, I popped up to Brocket Hall’s wedding fair. Only an hour from North London, this exclusive use venue is a gem. It’s stunning grounds, 30 bedrooms, butler service, and a dazzling ballroom certainly make it one of my favourites.

Today I’m busy in Berkshire planning a post-wedding barbecue at Burnham Beeches, visiting my true-love Clivedon House, and rounding the day off with a trip to Hedsor House’s wedding showcase.

So, are you tired just reading about my travels? Did you spot me in the videos? It’s been a busy, busy few weeks!
